Welcome our New Crisis and Referral Advocate Volunteer, Sierra!
Please join us in welcoming Sierra to the Victim Support Services team!
Sierra is a full-time master’s student at the University of Washington, specializing in Russian, Eastern European, and Central Asian Studies with a focus on Ukraine. When she’s not writing papers, you can often find her out on a hike or attempting to master crocheting (with mixed results!). She also has a passion for languages and enjoys volunteering with English language learners in Ukraine.
Sierra chose to volunteer with VSS to connect with her community in a meaningful way that aligns with her academic and career goals. She hopes to one day work in law enforcement supporting multilingual communities and believes that VSS is one of the best places in Washington to learn how to better serve victims of crime.
She’s especially looking forward to meeting everyone and contributing to the important work VSS does every day. Sierra believes that real-world experience beyond the classroom is essential to her future success—and we couldn’t agree more!
Welcome, Sierra—we’re so excited to have you on the team!
