In Memorium: Scott Tompkins

Our community lost a great friend, a stellar detective, and a champion for crime victims when Detective Scott Tompkins succumbed to a sudden illness this past weekend (9/9/18). Scott was a long-serving member of the King County Sheriff’s Office, hired in 1991, and contributed his time to Victim Support Services as a board member for the past seven years. Victim Support Services recently honored Scott in March 2018 as the recipient of the VSS “Power of One” award. His loyal dedication and unwavering commitment to the community deserved our special recognition. Scott inspired others by bringing suspects to justice and providing closure to many families.  He loved golf and was instrumental in helping Victim Support Services plan community fundraisers to benefit crime victim services in our state. In this spirit, VSS plans to honor Scott at our upcoming October golf tournament.

Scott, we will miss you and your tireless efforts to help make our state a safer place to live and provide crime victims with hope. You are gone, but not forgotten. Thank you for your service.
