Tyrone, age 26, was murdered in New Orleans on October 20, 2004. A family friend of his mother, who lived in Everett, contacted Families & Friends, seeking support and services for her. Even though the killer was arrested soon after the murder, he was subsequently released, claiming self defense. Tyrone’s mother was understandably very upset as she felt that justice had not been served. She connected with Families & Friends for one on one support and also attended Families & Friends peer support group.
