A Heartfelt Thanks to our Amazing Volunteers, Thank you!

Without our extraordinary volunteers, Victim Support Services (VSS) would not be the successful organization it is today. This week we want to take the time to honor our volunteers and give our deepest appreciation to them for all the hard work they put into this organization and caring for others.

Volunteers at Victim Support Services serve the community in many ways by providing emotional support, crisis intervention, and referrals and resources to victims of crime and their families. Individuals who have been hurt or harmed by crime can call the referral line between the hours of 7am-7pm and speak with an advocate. Without our fabulous volunteers we would not be able to do all that we do assisting the community when they need it most.

Prior to being employed by Victim Support Services I had the amazing opportunity to be a volunteer. Being a volunteer gave me the opportunity to give back to the community and assist those in need. It also opened my eyes to just how important volunteers truly are. Volunteers sacrifice their time giving many hours per month. Sometimes it can be difficult not knowing what to expect on the other end of the phone call. At times volunteers may question if the work they do makes a difference in the lives of others. While you may not always see the impact you have on those in need you are changing the world with each encounter you have bearing your compassion and understanding to those who need a listening ear and someone to lean on.

I truly appreciate the dedication and valuable work our volunteers do for VSS. Without our amazing volunteers we would not be able to do what we do. Please always remember the work you are doing is leaving an impact on the lives of others. Thank you for seeing the need of helping others and so selflessly giving it your all. Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and the love you give to the world. Thank you every day for everything you do to make a difference in the lives of others.

We want to highlight one of our amazing volunteers, Julie! Julie has served on the referral line for several years now and has volunteered countless hours. She is an amazing, compassionate advocate who has a passion in helping victims of crime. We cannot thank you enough for all the hard work you have done for VSS and most importantly the sacrifice you give to serve others!

We are currently accepting volunteer applications! If interested please email [email protected] or [email protected] and we will get in contact with you and provide more information.
