This group was designed specifically with those who have lost a loved one to homicide in mind. We have incorporated client feedback over the years as well as additional research to provide a comprehensive, yet flexible group experience. It is our intention to support you in your grieving journey.

FLAD support group was developed with the intention of honoring your loved one and looking at each person’s individual grief journey in a safe and supportive environment.  We hear time and time again similar themes survivors experience such as isolation, fear, stressed relationships and other complications that follow a homicide.  This is an opportunity for you to meet other people that have shared a similar experience.

Groups typically take place on weekday evenings and meet for 10 week sessions.  We do ask that each participant make a personal commitment to attending all group sessions prior to our first meeting.

If you are interested in attending the Finding Light After Darkness 10 Week Homicide Survivors support group please contact the Victim Support Services office closest to you or call our 24-hour hotline at 1-888-288-9221.

Victim Support Services is offering their first Finding Light After Darkness Homicide Survivor Support Retreat March 3rd - March 5th, 2017 on Whidbey Island. VSS will bring together survivors who are looking to share their common experiences and provide support and encouragement to each other. Participants will explore the physical and emotional challenges that survivors face amongst the beautiful surroundings and cozy cabins of the Whidbey Island Institute in Clinton, WA. There is a suggested donation of $100 to cover food costs but this is negotiable because we don't want it to be a barrier for people coming.
