Volunteer Opportunities

Victim Advocate/Intern:  Respond to victim crisis calls and provide one-on-one advocacy, crisis intervention, support, and referrals.

Commitment:  Minimum of 12 months commitment, approximately 3-6 shifts per month.  40 hour Core Advocacy Training required. Attendance at monthly meetings and agency training.

Hotline Advocate: Respond to crisis hotline calls during non-business hours from your own home.  Provide emotional support, crisis intervention and referrals. Average hours 5pm-9am Monday-Friday and 24 hours on weekends. Also opportunity for providing hotline coverage during business hours.

Commitment: Minimum of 12 months, approximately 4-6 on call shifts a month.  40 hour Core Advocacy Training required.  Attendance at monthly meetings and agency trainings.

Please note that the above positions require a 40 hour pre-advocacy training and continuing education.

Administrative Assistant: Provide administrative support to agency office.  Includes word processing, filing, and other duties.  A great opportunity for someone wishing to expand his or her office skills.

Commitment:  6 month commitment, 4-8 hours per month.

Technology Coordinator:  Assist the agency with the use of technology, both in terms of planning and implementation (trouble shooting, technical support, and software installation)

Commitment:  Available for occasional work (fewer than 8 hours per month), for 6 months.

Fundraising:  Assist with researching, identifying and writing grant proposals.

Commitment:  May be a one-time commitment. Ideally, available for occasional work for a period of 6 months.  (Hours will vary according to project)

Events: Help plan and coordinate fundraising events. 

Commitment: May be a one-time commitment.  Ideally, available for occasional work for a period of 6 months.  (Hours will vary according to project)
